ABOUT
My name is Emile Avanessian. I am a freelance writer and editor, originally from the United States, but now living in Europe. My work through the years has predominantly focused on sports, specifically NBA basketball and European football, more specifically in England and Spain, with a particular focus on FC Barcelona and the women's club game.
My sports-related work has featured at a number of outlets, including Urban Pitch, Defector, best-selling English author Jonathan Wilson’s quarterly print magazine The Blizzard, Squawka, ESPN, Yahoo Sports, Sports Collectors Daily, Forum Blue & Gold, and Barça Blaugranes. In addition, I also regularly appear on two prominent English language FC Barcelona-focused podcasts, the Barcelona Podcast, and The Blaugranes Show.
Outside of sports, I have written about the restaurant and entertainment industries for EMERGING, societal issues, including technology and global food chain, for Hacking Finance, and the casino gaming and hospitality industries for Bonus.com.
